Who is Tim Berners-Lee?

UnknownSir Tim Berners-Lee is a multi-award winning British computer scientist known best for creating the World Wide Web in 1989 where he paired hypertext with the Internet.

He was born in London in 1955 (currently aged 59) and went on to study physics at Oxford University to become a software engineer. Through work at companies CERN and John Poole’s Image Computer Systems Ltd, Tim gained experience in computer networking.
By 1989 CERN (French Acronym: Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire – in English: European Organization for Nuclear Research) was the largest Internet node in Europe and this is when and where he saw the opportunity to create what he would then call the World Wide Web.

As a world renowned computer scientist and the creator of one of the biggest technological advances in History he went on to win multiple awards and still works towards improving and maintaining the World Wide Web through foundations and consortiums he created or is a big part of.
